## In their own words

I am an Occupational Therapist who graduated in 2018, with a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy (MScOT).  I have been working in both hospital and community-based settings with a specific focus and interest on the treatment of neurological conditions.  I have experience working with many neurological conditions including Acquired Brain Injuries, Stroke, Traumatic brain injuries, Concussions Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.  I have recent experience working in the Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Program at Lions gate hospital (LGH).   I am currently working as an Occupational Therapist with Vancouver Coastal Health on the inpatient rehabilitation team at LGH. I believe in the importance of applying a holistic approach to treatment which covers the physical, cognitive, psycho-emotional and spiritual components of each client. By gaining insight into these components, I can create a client-centred treatment plan. Treatment plan is always based on each client’s return to functional activity goals. I use concepts of remediation, adaptation and environmental modifications.  I have training and experience in upper extremity treatment, cognitive assessment and rehabilitation, fatigue management, wheelchair seating assessment and equipment prescription to support functional goals.  I have completed courses in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Upper Extremity Treatment and Management post ABI, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Foundations in Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Chronic Pain Management.  Outside of work I enjoy travelling, engrossing myself in the French culture, rock climbing and spending time with friends and family. Treatment can be offered in Polish, English (and hopefully soon French!)
