## In their own words

Tenille has been a health professional since 2013. Prior to that, she worked in media, where she developed the curiosity that lead to a career in manual therapy. Tenille’s osteopathy training was a 4.5 year (part-time) program at the Vancouver campus of the Canadian School of Osteopathy - Manual Practice. She is a member in good standing with the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists (AAOMT), which is a recognized member of the Canadian Federation of Osteopathy (CFO) and the Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA). Tenille graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3,000 hour RMT program in 2012. She completed her board exams in the spring of 2013 and enjoyed an exciting massage therapy career on Vancouver Island, in the NWT and in Alberta before receiving her OMT designation. Tenille is a member in good standing with Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC). She is also a group fitness instructor, a therapeutic yoga teacher, a GROOVE dance facilitator and a somatic exercises instructor. Tenille takes a therapeutic approach to her treatments and has a special interest in complex cases where other modalities may not have been successful. She works with a variety of concerns, including chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, nervous system dysregulation, post injury / surgical rehabilitation, women’s health and more. She treats a lot of whiplash, TMJ dysfunction and post-concussion syndrome, and enjoys working with all populations, including prenatal, athletes, infants, elderly and neurodiverse people. Tenille utilizes a number of techniques, including: general osteopathic techniques, myofascial release, craniosacral, visceral manipulation, joint play and counter strain. All treatments are customized to the individual client, based on their history and current concerns. *In Canada and the United States, osteopaths are medical doctors with a different scope of practice. Tenille’s title in Alberta is Osteopathic Manual Therapist (OMT). Sometimes the acronym D.O.M.P. is also used by graduates of programs 4-5 years in length that include a research component and in-person, supervised clinical hours.
