However, I chose this clinic because of its excellent reviews and because it advertises expertise in knee injuries. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect those expectations. I came in with persistent knee pain hoping to leave with a better understanding of what was causing it or with a clear treatment plan. After a full hour of assessment and exercises, I was told that the physiotherapist could not determine the cause of my pain. The main advice I received was to continue exercising and avoid movements that increase the pain, which was already what I had been doing before seeking professional help. I understand that not every injury can be diagnosed in a single appointment, and I wasn’t expecting a miracle. However, I was expecting either a clearer clinical explanation, a more targeted treatment strategy, or guidance on what the next steps should be if the diagnosis remained uncertain. I left feeling that I hadn’t learned anything new and that the appointment hadn’t moved me any closer to solving the problem. I don’t doubt that the staff are well-intentioned, but based on my experience, the level of expertise I received did not match what I expected from a clinic that promotes itself as specializing in knee conditions. I did some background research and I then asked to be seen by Éric-Olivier Sirois. I am so glad that I was seen by him! I have seen a few physio therapists in the past for other sport injuries but none really helped me as much as I would have hoped for. However, Eric has been excellent. He is very experienced and was able to provide me the right exercises that gave me some very quick improvements. After a few sessions I was totally healed. I was unaware that acupuncture could resolve specific physical concerns as well as systemic ones, but it certainly can. I had trouble with pain in my hand and was greatly concerned. After just one treatment with Michelle Desjardins, however, the pain is nearly gone. I am looking forward to my follow-up treatments, as they are very pleasant, relaxing sessions done on a comfortable table and with delicious warmth from a heating lamp.
