## In their own words

Raised in Sydney River, Alana graduated from RHS and moved to Halifax to complete her BscKinesiology (2003) and BscPhysiotherapy (2006). She promptly returned home to Cape Breton to start her career as a physiotherapist. Over the last 9 years Alana has maintained her passion for pelvic floor rehabilitation. She has been trained to treat urinary/fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and a variety of pelvic pain conditions. These include, but are not limited to, pain with urination/defecation, pain with intercourse, bladder pain, period pain, and pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain. Alana is also trained in vestibular rehabilitation. She has been working with patients suffering from vertigo and imbalance for nearly a decade and has expanded this practice to include concussion management over the last 6 years.
