What Ailio is

Ailio is operated by Ailio Health Inc. of Victoria, British Columbia. We publish an index of clinics and practitioners — their services, prices and published openings — and pass appointment requests to them. Using Ailio means you accept these terms and our privacy notice.

Ailio is not a clinic, does not employ practitioners and provides no care. Every appointment is between you and the clinic. Their terms, their cancellation policy and their fees are theirs, not ours.

Not medical advice

Nothing on Ailio is medical advice, and nothing here creates a practitioner-patient relationship between you and us. Which discipline or practitioner is right for you is a decision for you and a qualified professional. Listing a clinic is not a recommendation of it, and the order results appear in is not a ranking of quality.

If this is an emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency department. Do not use Ailio.

Booking an appointment

Booking through Ailio sends the clinic a request. It is not an appointment until the clinic confirms it. We do not hold clinics’ calendars, so an opening we show may already be taken by the time your request arrives.

Cancelling in Ailio changes our record and nothing else — it does not cancel anything at the clinic. If you need to cancel, contact the clinic directly. Most clinics charge for a late cancellation or a no-show; where we can read a clinic’s policy we show it, but the policy is theirs and applies whether or not we managed to read it.

If you gave us a note for the practitioner, it stays encrypted and is not sent to the clinic. Anything a clinic needs to know before your visit, tell them.

Prices and coverage estimates

Prices come from clinics’ own published fee lists. Where a card shows a price for a discipline, it is the cheapest service that clinic lists in it, along with how long that service is — not a quote for your visit. What you are charged is set by the clinic.

Any “what you would pay” figure is arithmetic over the plan terms you typed in yourself. Nobody has confirmed it with your insurer — no service in Canada offers us that — and it is not a promise of coverage. Check with your plan before relying on it.

Whether a clinic bills a payer directly is read from what the clinic publishes, and it can change without them updating their site. Confirm with the clinic before your visit if it matters to you.

Accuracy of listings

Almost everything in the index is read from clinics’ own booking systems and websites. We take real care over it and we say so when we could not check something — “we could not confirm” is never shown as “no” — but we cannot guarantee that a price, an opening, an address, a set of hours or a practitioner’s registration is current. Treat the clinic as the source of truth.

Your account

You must be old enough to consent to your own care to hold an account, and the information you give us must be your own and accurate — particularly on a health profile a clinic may rely on. Keep your password to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

You can close your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to abuse the service, to harass a clinic, or in a way that breaks these terms.

Acceptable use

Use Ailio to find and book care. Do not scrape or bulk-download the index, resell it, or use automated tools against it beyond what our robots file allows. Do not make appointment requests you do not intend to keep — a held slot is a real appointment somebody else could have had. Do not attempt to reach data that is not yours, or to interfere with the service.

For clinics

A clinic listing exists whether or not the clinic has anything to do with us. Claiming it gives you a way to correct and add to it; it does not create it, and letting a claim lapse does not remove it.

Claiming a listing

You claim a listing with an email address at the clinic’s own domain or by publishing a token in a DNS record. The emailed code is six digits, expires in ten minutes and allows five attempts. Claiming a clinic you are not authorised to act for is a breach of these terms.

What your edits do

What you tell us is added as your clinic’s own statement, with your name on it and a date. It sits beside what we read from your site rather than overwriting it, and it outranks it because you know and we were reading. Hiding a service hides it from patients and keeps its history. If you stop managing the listing, your listing remains and someone else at the clinic can claim it.

What you can see about a patient

For a request made through Ailio: the patient’s name, the practitioner, service, time and price, and their email address when you answer them. You do not see their health profile, their insurance details or any note they wrote — those are encrypted with a key Ailio’s clinic side does not hold.

Your responsibilities

Statements you publish through Ailio about your services, prices, billing and policies must be accurate, and you are responsible for them. Patient information you receive through Ailio is yours to handle under the privacy and professional obligations that already apply to your practice.

Pricing

We intend to charge clinics $12 a month for a managed listing. Nothing is billed today: there is no payment step, we hold no card and no charge has been made or authorised. If that changes we will ask you to agree to it first.

What the portal does not do

It does not write to your booking system — Ailio has no way to create or change an appointment in your calendar. It does not let you choose which reviews patients see; the only rating shown is Google’s, of your business. It does not accept photo uploads, only links. It does not report revenue, profile views or how many of your open slots were filled, because we do not measure any of those and would be making them up.

Content and trademarks

Ailio’s own design, code and compiled index belong to Ailio Health Inc. Clinic names, logos, photographs and descriptions belong to those clinics. Ailio is a trademark of Ailio Health Inc.

Apple is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Google Maps is a trademark of Google LLC. Waze is a trademark of Waze Mobile Ltd. Ailio is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them, and displays none of their logos.

Disclaimers and liability

Ailio is provided as it is. We do not warrant that listings are accurate or current, that an opening is still available, that a clinic will accept a request, or that the service will be uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, Ailio Health Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the care a clinic provides or fails to provide, for a fee a clinic charges you, or for what your insurer does or does not pay. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence — and nothing here affects rights you have under consumer protection legislation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protections of the law where you live.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell account holders by email. Continuing to use Ailio after a change means you accept it; if you do not, close your account.
