Lymphatic Facial

The lymphatic system consists of a network of vessels that carry a clear fluid (lymph) back to the blood. Unlike blood, which flows throughout the body in a continuous loop, lymph flows in only one direction: towards the heart. It also provides support to the immune system, containing lymphocytes and other white blood cells. Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a specialized gentle massage using strategic hand rhythm, pressure and sequence applied on the face to encourage natural flow of the lymph in the head. Compared to conventional massage, the pressure applied with manual lymph drainage is much lower in strength. The massage works at skin level, manipulating the lymphatic structures located in the subcutaneous tissues to influence the direction and speed of lymphatic flow. Manipulation of stagnated lymphatic fluid around blocked areas into more centrally located healthy lymphatic vessels allows drainage into the venous system. This supports release of toxins from the body, sinus drainage, and reduction of facial fluid retention. In addition, expect firmer and more glowing skin.
