“It was very short and pretty cold feeling because of the fact that there was no real respect for the condition my body was in. I have come down with MRSA and this superbug has been caused by a combo of changing my leg treatment for my previous burn, close coders with lots of people and getting an already broke out infection from some one else. Then the fact my body does not have much natural antibodies because of the clinicians having been ordering rounds and rounds of antibiotics which has destroyed my own immunity. Lastly I have not been able to have a stable place to live, eat food and keep at peace, so the hospital not offering genuine care is not very fair.”Lire la suiteRéduire

“While the staff here are great, whoever designed this place needs a reality check. Literally only TWO disabled parking spots by their front door. How can Wal-Mart have more disabled spots than a hospital???”

“Something has to be done about the lack of parking. I arrived to a full parking lot with multiple cars circling looking for a space. Had to park at the bottom of the hill. Maybe a shuttle service would be helpful? Rent another parking lot in the city and shuttle people from there? Put a sandwich board at the bottom of the hill saying parking lot is full?”Lire la suiteRéduire

“Had a rather invasive two procedure’s here, all the nurses were proffesional, extremely sweet and understanding of my anxiety. They made me feel very safe and comfortable, the only issue was the lack of parking, which is no fault of the staff but inconvenient regardless. Dr. law was friendly and attentive, he accommodated my needs and explained everything perfectly. I was well taken care of and am very happy with the service and treatment I received during my small stay! :)”Lire la suiteRéduire

“✨️ ✨️ ✨️ The experience I had is specific to my appointment at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital & likely won't be the same as other clinics. ✨️ ✨️ ✨️ 🔸️ 🔸️ 🔸️ FOR CONTEXT 🔸️ 🔸️ 🔸️ I was here for my first Colposcopy & want to express to any woman going for this procedure that it is VERY similar to a PAP test. If, at ANY point you are uncomfortable or unsure say so ! I know thats easier said or written than executed, but remember : everyone involved is paid (aside from the one volunteer) to provide a safe environment, ease concerns & answer questions. Also, if you have questions, ask ! I know it can be difficult but one thing I do is think about whatever the thing is I'm going to be doing & write questions down. Sometimes Google or Reddit help, but don't take it too far. Lastly, if you do ask others, remember, EVERY persons experience is filtered through their life experiences; I hope that doesn't sound wrong, just that no one remembers, feels or hears the same thing(s). 🔸️ 🔸️ 🔸️ 🏨 AT THE HOSPITAL 🏨 🔸️ 🔸️ 🔸️ A wonderful volunteer went over some paperwork / questions. She also answered some questions. Next step she walked me to the 'hospital wear' cart & explained how to put the gown on (sometimes the ties go in front, others in back), which clothes to leave on & which to remove. Last step she showed me the locker & change room process; they had pre-made 'Dirty' & 'Clean' signs wich were laminated & had magnets attached to stay on the magnetic change room & locker doors. The 'Dirty' sign had to be moved, by the user, to the change room door after EACH use & the locker door after their procedure. There was a cleaning lady who stayed around the waiting area & cleaned when needed. I was very happy with the cleanliness. I feel both the volunteer & cleaning lady were was amazing, both deserve some recognition ! Once in the procedure room, every step was explained BEFORE it happened, &, if I had a question, it was answered BEFORE anything continued. The Doctor who did my procedure & nurse who assisted were very thorough & easy to speak to & gave easy to understand answers. One quick thing I want to note, without TOO much detail : before I was able to say that I was hurting the Doctor said, "Is that painful?" I replied, "Yes." And a different tool was used, & it worked ! My only complaint is the lack of disability parking IN FRONT of the hospital ~ 2 spots. There are additional spots, but you literally have to backtrack walking as the entrance by the extra spots is the ER only & the other was under construction, I think? Anyway . . . Overall though, I had a wonderful experience .”Lire la suiteRéduire

“I just had a surgery today at KBH. Dr. Merg was my surgeon and i could not thank him enough for his excellent work. He has great work ethics and very kind, i will always be grateful to you, Doc. Also, the Anesthesiologist, Dr. Fitzgerald if i remember it correctly, you are awesome! And to the lovely OR nurse whom i forgot the name. To Nurse Marita who's very sweet and thoughtful. I could not thank all of you enough for taking such good care of me during my surgery. I am very nervous and worried before coming to the hospital but you all gave me assurance and made my surgery smooth like butter. I know my recovery will be painful but i am just very happy with all the help and support that i receive from everyone at the hospital. I do not have one bit of negative word to say, all i could think of is giving all of you praises for being such great healthcare professionals and kind humanbeings overall. Additional comment: Heather was also lovely, she was the one i spoke over the phone before my surgery. I want to let you know that your voice is comforting and you have a great attitude even over the phone. I wish you all the best and i appreciate all of you for doing a wonderful job.”Lire la suiteRéduire

“I'm a new immigrant, playing scooter with my kids and a broken ankle. My wife needs to work, cook for her two children, pick them up for school, and I'm sent to the emergency department alone for surgery. I use translation app and doctors and nurses to communicate, very smooth. JILL,Isobel? ...Forgive me for not remembering the names of doctors and anesthesiologists and four nurses. They were very professional and patient enough to help me fill out the form. I'm going home from the hospital tomorrow and thank them again. Update (June 2025): I came here again, this time for family member. One nurse brought several ointments to apply, but another nurse told me they were not necessary and simply discarded them on the windowsill. A large 1000ml bottle of saline solution was also mostly thrown away after only a small amount was used. Although the medical hospitalization was free, I feel that this kind of practice is somewhat wasteful. Sometimes, smaller packages of saline might be more appropriate, and medications that are not needed by the patient should not be provided. Reducing waste can help ensure that resources are directed to those who truly need them.”Lire la suiteRéduire
