Pain Management with Penthrox

A consultation and medical assessment will be completed prior to treatment. Please note that Penthrox® is not suitable for every patient. Eligibility for treatment is determined based on your medical history, medications, allergies, procedure type, and provider assessment. Penthrox® is an inhaled analgesic used to help manage temporary pain and discomfort during certain medical and aesthetic procedures. It contains methoxyflurane and is self-administered through a handheld inhaler under medical supervision. Penthrox® may be recommended during procedures where additional pain management or anxiety reduction may improve patient comfort. Possible Benefits Penthrox® may help: - Reduce procedural discomfort - Provide fast-acting pain relief - Improve treatment comfort - Reduce anxiety related to procedures - Allow patients greater comfort during longer or more sensitive treatments Effects are temporary and vary between individuals. Risks & Side Effects - Dizziness - Drowsiness - Nausea - Headache - Lightheadedness - Fatigue - Cough or throat irritation - Temporary changes in coordination or alertness - Allergic reaction (rare) Patients may experience varying levels of sedation or relaxation. Contraindications: - Are pregnant or breastfeeding without medical clearance - Have kidney disease or impaired kidney function - Have severe liver disease - Have a history of malignant hyperthermia - Have significant respiratory compromise - Have hypersensitivity to methoxyflurane or inhaled anesthetics - Are under the influence of alcohol or recreational substances Administered during your procedure as needed.
