Lactation Consultation - Prenatal Visit

This service is tailored to your questions and needs/concerns. Examples may include how and when to begin hand expression (jncluding how/when to collect colostrum before birth), discussion re: breast pumps (types, what to look for, importance of flange fit), learning breastfeeding positions and latching techniques, breastfeeding norms in the early postpartum days, what to expect during your stay in hospital re: infant feeds, alternative feeding methods used in hospital, learning how your current health concerns may affect your breastfeeding experience and how best to prepare, how to better achieve your breastfeeding goals when past experiences did not go as planned, expecting multiples, planning on exclusively pumping or a history of low milk supply. Infant care in the early postpartum period can also be discussed. Handouts and informational pkg provided to go home with as additional resource. I do not direct bill for insurance, however, an emailed receipt will be sent to you so that you can submit for reimbursement if you have coverage.
