“My consultation with Lisa went well. Lisa's understanding of the mind body balance is wonderful. Initially she was attentive and thorough and spent a lengthy amount of time listening to my concerns. I had come to Lisa with several injuries and sensitivies and really appreciated the supplement I purchased from her. My first acupuncture session with Lisa felt wonderful and I was looking forward to continuing treatments with her. The day after my first session with Lisa I had severe neck spasms from the acupuncture that limited my range of motion followed by intense nerve pain in my thumb and wrist shooting up to my neck. I was not able to use my hand at work for 2 days because of the sharp burning nerve pain. 20 days have past since then and I continue to have nerve pain in my thumb all the way to my neck. My following appointments with Lisa got progressively less thorough and Lisa's temperment and demeanor became very unpredictable. It made me uneasy not knowing if she would be in a good mood week to week. My fourth treatment was during the dropped mask mandate. At this time I was not aware that health services still required masks and showed up to my session without one. As I walked in, I was met with an unkind and neurotic emotional response from Lisa regarding my mask that greatly outweighed the intensity of the situation. I had explained my situation and apologized for not knowing and put a mask on. This session had made me very uncomfortable and I was hesitant to proceed. I explained my nerve pain situation but was not met with any acknowledgment, explanation, or treatment ideas from Lisa. Lisa left for the entirety of the session and was quite flustered. Lisa pulled the needles out in a sharp way that day and it made me flinch and hurt the areas of my body that were more vulnerable from injury. At the end of the session her body language was very dismissive. She gave me my receipts with an attached note telling me not to wear frangrances. I am not sure why she could not tell me directly. I could have reassured her that I was not wearing any scents. Lisa has vast amounts of knowledge in Eastern medicine, qi, energy movement and acupuncture. Her teaching skills are superior to her practice of acupuncture which has caused me more pain than I began with. Nerve injuries are serious and should not happen if acupuncture is done effectively and balanced. Lisa's emotional states and unpredictable temperment does not provide a safe space for clients. As disappointing as it is to say, in no way did Lisa's business feel like the qi way. For those of you who are allergic to cats, or sensitive to odors this is not the place for you. Lisa advised me that she has her cat come cleanse the space while cleaning after sessions. Her practice is run in a basement walk out which has an unpleasant musty smell.
