À propos de Aleesha
Dans ses mots
Born and raised in beautiful British Columbia, Aleesha completed both her Bachelors of Kinesiology and Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia. Growing up, she always knew she wanted to get into a profession that allowed her to help others. That, along with her passion for sports steered her in the direction of becoming a physiotherapist.
Why pelvic floor physiotherapy?
“Once I began my Masters program, I developed an interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy as I discovered loved ones around me were silently living with pelvic floor dysfunctions and pain. I saw how issues like incontinence, constipation, prolapse, poor scar mobility, dyspareunia, impacted not only their physical health but also their, mental, social, and emotional well-being. This allowed me to understand and appreciate the integral role pelvic health plays in our daily function and overall quality of life. I knew right then, I wanted to be part of the change, erasing the stigma and normalizing conversations around pelvic health that is not openly discussed.
I strongly believe in taking the time to build strong therapeutic connections with my clients in a space where they feel seen, safe, and supported with whatever they may be experiencing. My goal is to empower all my clients, no matter what stage of life, to feel confident in their bodies, comfortable talking about their bodies and capable in what their bodies can do. My approach is to provide clients with a foundation of knowledge, exercises, manual therapy, and self-management strategies, to help achieve any goal they set out for themselves, pre- or post-natal, no matter how big or small!”

Dry needling (IMS) visitFollow-up
« NOTE: This treatment is for returning patients only. Please book an Initial Appointment if you have not seen this practitioner before - IMS (dry needling) is a technique used by physiotherapists to treat nerve and muscle pain. The technique uses a medical grade needle (without injection) inserted into the targeted area of muscle on the body known as the trigger point. The trigger point is an irritated area on the muscle that is painful or uncomfortable with pressure, causing a larger area to be in discomfort. Once the needle is inserted, the muscle surrounding the area can experience a localized "twitch" response, which can feel like the muscle tightens briefly, then relaxes completely which can take pressure off surrounding nerves. This service is used as an adjunct to movement and exercise, hoping to relieve any neural tension and allow the patient to train into ranges/patterns they were having difficulties with. Patients who have already booked an initial physiotherapy session are able to book for this service. »
