About Alex
Alex is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. He has a diverse background in Social Work and Social Services, working with elementary schools, group homes, hospitals, unhoused individuals, and first responders. He has served on Crisis Response Teams in emergency rooms across Huron and Perth Counties and worked directly with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Stratford Police Service. His time in high-stress environments has deepened his passion for supporting first responders and healthcare professionals as they navigate the complex emotions and challenges that come with serving their communities.
Originally from Rural Perth County, Alex was drawn to the field of Social Services through his own personal experiences with mental health challenges. He approaches therapy with deep empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to helping individuals develop the tools they need to live fulfilling lives. He is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy and is currently pursuing additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Trauma.
Alex specializes in addiction, supporting first responders, men’s mental health, and helping youth manage anger and anxiety. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, newborn child, and two dogs. He stays active through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, running, weightlifting, camping, and fishing.
Alex believes in creating a therapeutic space built on honesty, openness, and a willingness to explore new approaches. He encourages his clients to bring these values into their sessions as they work together toward growth and healing.
