À propos de Alex
Dans ses motsAlex earned his BHSc. Kinesiology from Ontario Tech University as a varsity athlete on the men's hockey team. As a former student athlete, Alex has a large appreciation for the mental and physical preparation of being a high performance athlete. Struggles with injuries ultimately shortened his playing career and led him to place his passion for sport into injury prevention and rehab. After stepping away from the game in a player capacity, Alex began working with the varsity athletes at OTU as a strength coach and a member of the varsity athletic therapy team; gaining him front-line exposure to sport injury management. His experience as a strength coach alongside his fourth-year athletic therapy placement have given him opportunities in managing the recovery and performance needs of junior, varsity, and professional athletes.
Alex works mainly with professional hockey and soccer players in their off-season, and travels with Tennis Canada's Davis Cup team throughout the year. He splits his weeks treating in his clinical practice, and instructing at Sutherland-Chan School of Massage where he works to develop young clinicians in both lecture and clinic.
Alex's clinical focus emphasizes recovery management and injury prevention. He utilizes a variety of manual therapy skills including fascial work, lymphatic drainage, deep tissue, and dynamic/active release techniques. While leaning on his strength and conditioning background, he provides his patients a wide scope of care. He takes pride in empowering his patients and providing them with the guidance to prevent musculoskeletal injuries that might keep them from performing at their optimal level.
Alex has aspirations of becoming a well-rounded manual practitioner with a focus in recovery and performance for pro athletes. He plans to continue his education journey through biomechanics and physiology, and aims to obtain certifications in contemporary acupuncture, and concussion management

“Alex is an amazing treatment provider. He is more than a massage therapist, he is extremely knowledgeable and able to communicate clearly what problem he is addressing and why it may be causing pain or discomfort. His treatment methods go beyond traditional massage therapy and have helped me recover and maintain a healthy body.”Lire la suiteRéduire
