Alison Burrell, OT
À propos de Alison
Dans ses motsAlison is a pediatric Occupational Therapist who supports children and teens across a wide range of needs, including feeding, motor development, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and social skills. She meets every child and family with compassion and curiosity, no matter what brings them through the door.
Alison has a particular passion for working with youth with ADHD, autism, and anxiety, using a neuroaffirming lens that honours each child’s unique brain and lived experience.
Her approach is warm, playful, and relationship‑centred. She loves to follow a child’s interests, incorporate movement and creative play, and use somatic (body‑based) regulation to make skill‑building feel natural and engaging. Caregiver collaboration is central to her work, and she partners closely with families to co-create strategies that fit their child and everyday life.
With over a decade of experience, Alison continues to deepen her learning in neuroaffirming care, SOS Feeding Approach, self-regulation (Shanker Self-Reg), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with the support of clinical supervision.
Outside the therapy room, she enjoys hiking, cycling, canoeing, camping, and ultimate frisbee, and has experience coaching Special Olympics sports—shaping her values of inclusivity, connection, and community.
