Allison Bateman
À propos de Allison
Dans ses motsAllison is a musculoskeletal sports medicine physiotherapist with advanced training in orthopaedics, sports rehabilitation, dry needling, and acupuncture, and years of experience working with athletes of all ages and abilities. She completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta, followed by a Master of Clinical Science in Physical Therapy at Western University, where she also earned her Fellowship with the Canadian Academy of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists.
Her clinical practice spans high-performance sport, youth and adult athletes, military members, and active individuals managing complex or persistent musculoskeletal injuries. Allison has a particular passion for knee injury reduction and rehabilitation, including supporting high-performance athletes returning to sport after traumatic knee injuries. Her work emphasizes injury prevention strategies, improving movement efficiency, and safely bridging the gap between rehabilitation and sport or performance.
In addition to her sports medicine practice, Allison has a strong interest in pediatric rehabilitation and brings extensive experience treating children and youth with a wide range of neuromuscular conditions. This includes working with individuals with rare genetic disorders, cerebral palsy, and muscular dystrophies within pediatric rehabilitation settings. She is an Assistive Devices Program (ADP) authorizer and can support families in accessing government-funded equipment to enhance mobility, function, and participation.
Allison thrives on the challenge of optimizing movement and performance—whether supporting elite athletes returning to competition, helping weekend warriors get back to the activities they love, or guiding “athletes in life” who simply want to move better and live fully. Her approach is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in rehabilitation science, with a strong focus on restoring confidence, resilience, and long-term physical health. No matter the goal—high-level sport, recreational activity, or everyday function—she is driven to help people return to what matters most to them.
Outside of the clinic, Allison loves staying active with her husband, two children and their pup. You’ll often find them snowshoeing and embracing winter adventures, or hiking, camping, biking, and golfing together in the warmer months. Movement is not just her profession—it’s a way of life, and she brings that same energy, curiosity, and commitment into the care of every patient she works with.
