Allison completed her undergraduate degree in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph in 2002. After taking a year off of school she went back to Guelph to complete her Masters in Applied Human Nutrition and has been working as a registered dietitian since 2005.
Allison started her career as a dietitian working in primary care where she counselled patients in their family doctor’s office with a focus on diabetes and weight management. Over the course of her career Allison has gained expert knowledge working in nephrology, medicine and critical care.
Allison has always had a love for physical activity and moving her body. In 2005 she tested her limits by training for her first marathon and fell in love with running.
In her spare time, Allison can be found running in the trails, hitting up the gym for an early morning weight training class and spending time with her family, including her two children aged 9 and 11.
Allison started a new chapter in her nutrition career in 2023 when she started her own website and sports nutrition blog at www.123gonutrition.com/blog. After spending most of her life surrounded by diet culture messaging, Allison wants to help her clients meet their health and wellness goals without following restrictive diets.
