Amanda is a compassionate and client-centred Registered Social Worker with experience in clinical and mental health settings. She is dedicated to helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and life transitions using a trauma-informed approach that fosters a safe and supportive environment.
As a second-generation Canadian-born Chinese (CBC) woman, Amanda brings a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding cultural identity, marginalization, and the unique challenges faced by individuals navigating multiple cultural backgrounds. She integrates this perspective into her practice, offering culturally sensitive care that respects each client’s experiences.
Amanda currently works full-time at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in a crisis and critical care setting, where she provides biopsychosocial assessments, counselling, and transition planning for clients facing complex mental health challenges. Her experience also includes providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for clients with eating disorders, as well as supportive counselling for clients with mood disorders, psychosis and substance use.
Amanda's diverse background allows her to offer a holistic approach to therapy, helping clients uncover their inner strengths and develop practical strategies for lasting well-being. She is committed to supporting each client’s journey, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
Outside of her professional life, Amanda enjoys walking her German Shepherd, Ruby, and spending time outdoors, whether she’s running, practising yoga, or exploring nature.
