About Amanda
Amanda is a graduate from the Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic. A performing artist with 25 years of professional experience and training, she holds a BA in Dance from UNICAMP in Brazil, and an MA in Dance Studies from York University in Toronto. Amanda has conducted research on bodily memory and trauma exploration as a means of creating new and counter-hegemonic languages in the performing arts. She has performed and taught dance around the world in a diverse range of contexts.
When customizing treatments, Amanda can make use of a variety of techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point, joint and rhythmic mobilization, hydrotherapy, Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage, fascial, intra-oral/buccal, and Thai massage. Her touch is firm, using pressure ranging from light to deep.
Amanda provides quiet treatments, allowing her patients to reconnect with their body and to let healing take place. She is a strong believer that patients’ engagement with their treatment process, including consistent self-care, is essential for a successful outcome.
Amanda strives for inclusivity and to create a safe space that welcomes everyone.
