About Ameera
Hi, I'm Ameera! I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the CCPA. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Criminology from Simon Fraser University.
My passion for counselling grew from recognizing the importance of accessible mental health support and wanting to help reduce the stigma surrounding therapy, particularly within cultural communities where seeking support can sometimes feel unfamiliar or discouraged. I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment.
My approach to therapy is relational, person-centred, and collaborative. I believe that healing begins within the safety of a genuine therapeutic relationship, where you can show up as you are without feeling like you have to have everything figured out. Together, we'll explore the challenges you're facing, build on your existing strengths, and work toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
While I often draw from person-centred and solution-focused approaches, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, goals, and experiences. Whether you're navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, self-esteem, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to create a space where you feel supported, empowered, and understood.
Seeking support can feel like a big step, and I know it isn't always easy. Whether you're new to counselling or returning to therapy, I'm here to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you move toward the life you want to create.
