Dans ses motsAmy is a graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy 2200 hour diploma program. She graduated with honours and throughout her schooling she had an aptitude and inclination toward clinical assessment and treatment planning as well as practical massage skills. Amy grew up in Halifax and took part in full-time dance classes, yoga and walking/running groups which sparked her interest in exploring body mechanics and movement efficiency.
Amy is dedicated to providing a safe, effective, patient-centered treatment plan in order to achieve quantifiable results and help return her patients back to optimal health. She has a special interest in treating those experiencing chronic pain due to postural dysfunction, repetitive stress injuries, sports injuries and treating those living with tension headaches or migraines. Amy has additional training in treating pre and post-natal care patients including advanced pregnancy and pelvic floor related courses as well as completing her own research regarding pelvic girdle instability. In order to address these concerns and help her patients achieve their goals she enjoys using techniques such as myofascial and trigger point release techniques, PNF stretching, peripheral joint mobilizations as well as general swedish and deep tissue massage. Amy also has certifications in modalities such as Cupping and Muscle Energy Techniques. She aims to provide a therapeutic approach while maintaining a calming and comfortable environment.
In her spare time Amy enjoys hiking, swimming and yoga as well as spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking. Her favorite place to spend time is at the cottage on the lake where she enjoys hanging out with family and friends and taking the canoe out on the water.
