Hi, I’m Andre Stam. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brock University and my Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. I worked as a Primary/Junior special needs teacher in Alberta, Northern Ontario, Northern Quebec, and southwestern Ontario, before making the move to Psychotherapy in 2021. I earned my Master's in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and have worked as a Psychotherapist since then.
At EDify Elgin, I provide counselling therapy in several ways, including CBT, Narrative, Somatic Experiencing, Integrated Family Systems, and Sleep Therapy.
Several years ago, while working with clients who struggle with OCD, ADHD and Autism, I developed Video Game Assisted Therapy; this method can also involve Lego, board games, and card games. This approach teaches clients that therapy can be enjoyable while helping them develop the skills and routines needed to increase their confidence and resilience.
I look forward to working with you and your family to help you improve your mental health, strengthen your relationships, and build up your confidence.
