Andrew graduated in 2004 with his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University, and has been working in private practice since. His post graduate education includes completion of the Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2011, achieving the designation of Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. He has also completed courses in: Concussion Management, Rehabilitation of the Functional Fitness Athlete, Mulligan Concepts, Running Injury Management, Explain Pain, Kinesiotaping, and Acupuncture to name a few.
Prior to physiotherapy, Andrew had completed a Bachelor of Physical Education with a major in Sport Science from the University of New Brunswick and had taken extensive coursework in Sport Psychology. He has volunteered his services at several local, national, and international sporting events, and is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.
In addition to his work in the clinic, Andrew has worked as a lab instructor in the Master's of Physiotherapy program at Dalhousie University, is an instructor and mentor for the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and has been involved as a research assistant on a study in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University, which is related to Total Knee Arthroplasties. He has published a book review in Momentum (the newsletter of Sport Physiotherapy Canada) and has co-published a guideline for using outcome measures in the Orthopedic Division Review (the official journal of the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association). Andrew is the Communications Chair of the Education Committee for the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and has been a board member of the St. Margaret's Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Andrew works with his patients to identify the cause of their pain or dysfunction and to come up with a patient specific plan to reach their individual goals. He feels that a combination of manual therapy (hands on treatment), education, and specific exercises are necessary to achieve these goals. He is also a strong believer in evidence-based practice.

From the immediate response I received from Karen (outstanding customer service) to book my initial appointment and then the time and attention spent with Andrew to discuss, understand and create a treatment plan for my issue, I knew that Platinum Physio was the right choice! AND they are completely 100% local and independently owned and operated (by three school colleagues) which for me, means I did not feel like a "billable appointment time and just a number" to them. Highly, highly recommended!Lire la suiteRéduire
