About Angela
Angela (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker (RSW #18088) having completed her Master of Clinical Social Work at UBC Okanagan. Angela has worked previously in residential support with children and youth with complex physical and mental health and behavioural support needs. During this time, she gained experience in supporting children and youth through crisis intervention, emotional regulation, and life-skills development. This experience has helped shaped the approach Angela takes in meeting clients wherever they are at.
Angela is especially passionate about working with neurodiverse and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, and individuals struggling with stress and anxiety. Within this, she aims to support clients with coping skills, self-discovery and acceptance, and improving wellbeing.
Angela’s approach is informed by strengths-based, person-centred, and feminist theories. She aims to combine a variety of modalities, such as CBT, ACT, and narrative therapy, in a way that is informed by culture, neurodiverse perspectives, and clients’ previous experiences. Her goals in counselling include supporting you in cultivating a life that is fulfilling and aligns with your values, strengthening independence, and supporting you in feeling empowered to make changes and tackle challenges. Her services are anti-oppressive and trauma-informed, and employ mindfulness, acceptance, and narrative practices.
In addition to her Masters Degree, Angela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Psychology (Hons) from Douglas College. In her free time, Angela enjoys reading, trying out various forms of crafts, doing karaoke, spending time outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
