Anna Soby
À propos de Anna
Dans ses motsAnna is a born and raised Calgarian with a lifelong passion for sport and movement. Growing up, she spent most weekends ski racing in Fernie, BC, and playing club volleyball. These experiences sparked her interest in physiotherapy from an early age. She completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Alberta before heading overseas to earn her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland.
After graduating, Anna moved to Edinburgh, where she worked in a private practice and took every opportunity to explore Europe on the weekends.
Anna has continued to advance her clinical skills through ongoing education. She has completed training in Functional Dry Needling (FDN)/ Intra-Muscular Stimulation (IMS), as well
as courses focused on whiplash-associated disorders, concussion management, and Orthopedic level certification.
Her treatment approach is hands-on and individualized. She integrates a variety of techniques
including manual therapy, myofascial release, dry needling/IMS, targeted exercise programs,
and strategies to correct muscle imbalances. Anna is passionate about helping clients return to
the activities they love, whether that is competitive sport, weekend adventures, or everyday
movement.
What is your treatment philosophy?
My treatment philosophy is patient-centered, with individual goals as the top priority. I work collaboratively to ensure expectations are being met while addressing the root cause of
dysfunction for long-term results. I combine hands-on techniques with education and tailored exercise programs to support patients in their recovery and help them return to the activities that
matter most to them.
What are you interested in outside of work?
Outside of the clinic, you’ll often find me skiing in Fernie during the winter or staying active year-round with volleyball, tennis, biking, running, and pickleball. I also have a big love for travel and
enjoy exploring new places and cultures whenever I get the chance. Staying active and adventurous has always been a big part of my life, and I’m always looking for new ways to grow, explore, and connect with others.
What are your areas of expertise and interest?
I have a particular interest in treating injuries affecting the knee or shoulder, whiplash injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation. I enjoy working with a wide range of injuries and I am committed
to helping each patient regain their best possible function and quality of life.
How do you take care of your body/prevent injuries?
Playing sports is my passion, so I make strength training a regular part of my routine to help
prevent injuries and stay in shape. I pay close attention to my body and take breaks when
needed. Maintaining a healthy balance allows me to stay active and continue enjoying the activities I love.
