About Ashley
Ashley is the Owner and Founder of Lumina Social Work and Behavioral Services Inc. She is a Registered Social Worker and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst with over 15 years of experience supporting children, youth, adults, and families of all ages and abilities. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters degree in Behavior Analysis Practice. Ashley is also certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which she integrates within her counselling and therapeutic support services. In addition, Ashley is a member in good standing with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW) and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). She is also a member of the Atlantic Provinces Association of Behavior Analysts (APABA).
Ashley works with individuals of all ages and abilities — neurotypical and neurodivergent — who are striving to build meaningful skills and move toward goals that truly matter to them. Whether someone is learning daily living skills, strengthening communication, developing emotional regulation, or increasing independence, she meets them where they are and walks alongside them in a way that feels respectful and empowering.
Ashley provides:
- Social work counselling and ACT-informed therapeutic supports
- Functional Behavior Assessments and consultations
- Individualized Behavior Support Plans and interventions
- Parent and caregiver education, coaching, and training
- Life-skills development and programming
- Direct in-home behavioral intervention and ABA services
She also works closely with parents and caregivers who may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of their next step. Raising or supporting a child or loved one with complex needs can impact every part of life — relationships, siblings, social connections, and even one’s own sense of identity.
Ashley offers practical behavioral guidance for navigating challenging behaviors and implementing effective skill-building strategies, while also providing therapeutic support for caregiver stress, burnout, grief, and the emotional weight that can come with long-term advocacy and care.
Ashley’s goal is not only to build skills, but to help families feel understood, supported, and less alone — creating sustainable strategies that honour each person’s strengths, values, and lived experience. She believes meaningful and lasting change happens when compassion and clinical precision work together.
