About Aya
Aya Elomrani- Speech-Language Pathologist
Aya is a Speech-Language Pathologist who supports preschool- and school-aged children with speech, language, literacy, and communication needs. She is passionate about helping children build their communication skills, grow in confidence, and feel successful in everyday interactions at home, at school, and with their peers.
Aya has a particular interest in articulation and phonology, narrative language, phonological awareness and literacy, early language development, and Gestalt Language Processing (GLP). Her clinical work also includes supporting children with language disorders and complex communication needs.
Aya provides Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) assessment and intervention, including communication device programming and helping children, families, and educators integrate AAC into everyday routines and environments.
She believes Speech-Language Pathology is about much more than speech. SLPs can also support how children understand and use language, develop reading and writing skills, communicate in different environments, and build confidence in expressing themselves.
Aya’s approach is collaborative, family-centred, and evidence-informed. She enjoys coaching parents, teachers, and other members of a child’s support team so that useful communication strategies can extend beyond the therapy session and into the environments where children spend their time.
Most importantly, Aya wants children to feel comfortable being themselves. She strives to make therapy fun, engaging, and meaningful, recognizing that children often learn best when they feel safe, connected, and interested in what they are doing.
Aya provides in-person services at Allied Therapy’s Bedford clinic, community-based support in the Halifax area, and virtual Speech-Language Pathology services across Nova Scotia.
