About Brooke
Clinical Counselling Bio
With over a decade of experience supporting individuals through trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges, I specialize in EMDR therapy and trauma-informed care that supports deep, lasting healing. As a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work and registration with the BC College of Social Workers, I integrate evidence-based approaches with a compassionate, holistic understanding of the nervous system, mind, and body.
My practice is grounded in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, helping clients process traumatic experiences, shift longstanding negative beliefs, and reconnect with a greater sense of safety, resilience, and self-worth. EMDR can also be highly effective in the treatment of addictions and compulsive behaviours by addressing the underlying, emotional wounds, triggers, and nervous system patterns that often contribute to substance use and unhealthy coping strategies. I work with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, grief, burnout, addictions, and the lasting effects of difficult life experiences.
In addition to EMDR, I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches, Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry, somatic and body-based healing practices, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. My background in yoga and nervous system regulation allows me to support clients in developing greater body awareness, emotional regulation, and connection to their inner wisdom throughout the healing process.
I believe healing occurs within a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. My approach is warm, grounded, and client-centred, honouring each person’s unique story, pace, and goals. Together, we work to understand protective patterns, process unresolved experiences, and create meaningful change that supports greater clarity, connection, and wellbeing.
I also serve as a First Nations Health Authority counsellor and Crime Victim Assistance Program counsellor, bringing deep respect for cultural humility, resilience, and trauma-informed care to my work with diverse communities.
If you are seeking support to heal from trauma, navigate life transitions, or reconnect with yourself more fully, I welcome the opportunity to walk alongside you in that process.
