Carol is currently accepting new clients.
Carol Tickner, BSc, RD (she/her) is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. She completed her undergraduate degree at Mount Saint Vincent University in Nova Scotia, began her career in Trail, BC, and has been practicing in Victoria since 1993.
Carol brings over 20 years of experience as a dietitian specializing in eating disorders, with a special interest in ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) and REDs (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport).
Her areas of focus include:
- Disordered eating and relationship with food
- Eating disorders (AN, BN, BED, OSFED) and special interest in ARFID for youth and adults
- Sports nutrition and relative energy deficiency in sport (REDs)
- Family nutrition and meal planning
Carol has always been drawn to physical challenges and has participated recreationally in a variety of sports, with a particular love for cross-country running, triathlon, mountain biking, and adventure racing. She is also a mom to two teenage boys—both athletes—who have, at times, been challenging eaters, giving her both personal and professional insight into family nutrition dynamics.
Carol is passionate about helping people build more peaceful, sustainable relationships with food. She is especially skilled at translating the often complex science of nutrition into practical, realistic strategies that feel manageable in everyday life.
She practices from a weight-inclusive perspective, recognizing that body size is not a reliable indicator of health. Carol works collaboratively with clients through a compassionate, trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming lens.
