Carolyn Ogilvie
À propos de Carolyn
Dans ses motsHello, my name is Carey. I work with teens, adults, and couples who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or caught in patterns that are becoming difficult to manage on their own. You might be dealing with anxiety or depression, putting enormous pressure on yourself, struggling in a relationship, or simply feeling like something needs to change but not knowing where to begin.
My goal is to create a space where you can slow things down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and begin making changes that feel realistic and meaningful in your everyday life.
I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood while also having space to look at things from a different perspective. I take a collaborative, whole-person approach, which means we may explore your thoughts and emotions, relationships, past experiences, current environment, and the strengths you already bring with you.
I particularly enjoy working with people navigating anxiety, depression, perfectionism, self-esteem concerns, burnout, overthinking, relationship difficulties, grief, academic or workplace stress, life transitions, body image concerns, trauma, and challenges with emotion regulation.
I completed my internship and residency at Calgary Counselling Centre, where I gained extensive experience supporting clients with depression and other mental health concerns. My training also included specialized education with Dr. Michael Yapko in understanding and treating depression.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from different evidence-based therapies depending on your needs, goals, and personality. My work is particularly influenced by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, attachment-based approaches, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, and strengths-based work.

Intake Session - CouplesNew patient
« This session type is an information gathering and goal setting session. »4 optionsIntake Session - AdultNew patient
« Your first session is a gentle, supportive starting point focused on understanding you—your concerns, your goals, and what’s been weighing on you. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, your personal and relational history, current stressors, and what you hope to gain from counselling.
This session is paced with care and guided by your comfort. There is no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to discuss. Together, we begin building a safe, trusting relationship while identifying patterns, strengths, and areas for growth. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your needs, next steps, and an initial plan tailored to you. »7 optionsIntake Session - ChildNew patient
