Counsellor – Registered Social Worker with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (License # 7121)
Cassie joins us from Thunder Bay, ON, where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Lakehead University in 2016. In 2023, Cassie moved to Saskatchewan, where she completed her Master of Social Work Degree at the University of Regina. Cassie brings over 10 years of experience in the field of social work, working with individuals of all ages, in mental health, addiction, child, youth, and family settings.
Cassie’s counselling approach offers a collaborative, safe, supportive and inclusive environment that fosters client voice, healing, growth, and self-empowerment. Her empathic and compassionate lens to practice focuses on strength-based, client-centred, and trauma-informed interventions. She believes that therapeutic relationships are built on a foundation of mutual respect, trust, empathy, communication and healthy boundaries.
Her strengths include supporting young people with mental health and substance use concerns, anger management, goal setting, healthy communication, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, stress management, self-harm, life transitions, and grief. She has experience supporting children and families with conflict resolution and has facilitated psychoeducational workshops on various topics surrounding anger management, healthy relationships, communication, and intimate partner violence.
On a personal note, Cassie enjoys small-town living, cooking, the outdoors, camping, travelling, music, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog.
