Chad Friel, RMT
À propos de Chad
Dans ses motsI studied Remedial Massage Therapy at Western College in Regina SK. While there I learned sports massage therapy, orthopedic assessment, muscle energy techniques and manual soft tissue work. Over the years I became interested in finding ways to treat the body more holistically. I studied Psychology, Yoga, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy and eventually became a Yoga Therapist. By combining the modalities I've studied and learned I came up with something I call Yoga Integration. Please see below to read more about Yoga Integration. I believe the body has a natural ability to heal, but sometimes we need help in order for healing to occur. I aim to facilitate the body's natural ability to heal by creating the space for that healing to occur, whether it's a physical injury, muscle tension, stress or something deeper. I also teach massage therapy at the college level part-time, as well as continue to teach yoga and yoga workshops. In January of 2024, I began a new journey to become an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner. While I'm in school I will be offering Ayurvedic health coaching at a discounted price.
I specialize in treating the following; Pre and post-orthopedic surgery, shoulder rehabilitation, fibromyalgia and physical pain, stress, anxiety, and depression.
I hold certifications in the following; Registered Massage Therapist, Myofascial Cupping, Yoga Therapist, Reiki Level 3 Practitioner, Yin Yoga Certification, Restorative Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga 200hr, Advanced Yoga Teacher Training, Cranial Sacral Therapy Level 1 (Upledger).

« An ancient Ayurvedic therapy designed to calm the mind and body.
Shiro means “head” and Dhara means “continuous flow.”
This deeply relaxing treatment uses a gentle stream of warm herbal oil that flows steadily over the forehead, specifically over the ajna chakra (the third eye center) associated with intuition and mental clarity. The continuous flow of oil soothes the nervous system, quiets the mind, and induces a state of profound relaxation similar to meditation or sleep.
The session begins with a 15-minute head and scalp massage to settle your mind and prepare you for deep stillness and receptivity.
Benefits:
An excellent treatment for balancing Vata dosha, and conditions such as insomnia, anxiety, stress, and mild depression. Shirodhara is a great treatment for relieving stress, tension headaches, improving sleep and clearing your mind of mental chatter.
Note:
Oil will remain in the hair after treatment. Please bring a toque or hat to cover your head afterward. »Thai Massage
« Reconnect your body and mind with the ancient art of Thai Massage. This dynamic treatment blends acupressure, gentle stretching, and rhythmic compressions to release tension, improve flexibility, and stimulate energy flow. A Thai massage leaves you feeling like you have just completed a yoga class and received a massage at the same time. »Yoga Integration
« Each session combines Yoga, Reiki, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Massage Therapy. We begin with a discussion and an assessment to find out where your yoga session will focus. As you begin to move I’ll observe the way your body flows through yoga poses; the muscle, myofascial and energetic restrictions are noted and worked through by utilizing Reiki, Massage and Pranayama (breathing) techniques. Each session is unique to you and your body. Your session includes specific yoga poses tailored to your needs to practice on your own time. After sessions, many people report feeling empowered, open, lighter, less pain and energized. »Ayurvedic Health Coaching Consultation

« A Journey into the basics of Ayurveda through yoga and breath work.
Join Chad (Ayurvedic Health Counsellor, Yoga Therapist and RMT) for a 2 hour interactive workshop.
Discover how the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda can transform your yoga practice into a personalized tool for greater health, energy, and balance.
According to Ayurveda, the body is composed of the five elements—space, air, fire, water, and earth. These elements combine to form the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), the biological energies that regulate every function in the body and mind. When the doshas are in balance, we experience vitality, mental clarity, overall well-being and happiness. Life often seems to "flow". When we become imbalanced, the doshas can contribute to stress, fatigue, digestive issues, poor sleep, anxiety, inflammation, and, over time, disease.
In this interactive 90-minute workshop, you'll be introduced to the foundations of Ayurveda and discover how simple, intentional practices can help restore balance naturally. Through guided yoga postures, pranayama (breathwork), and practical lifestyle tips, you'll experience how different movements and breathing techniques can either calm or stimulate each dosha.
Rather than practicing the same yoga routine every day, you'll learn how to adapt your practice to meet your body's changing needs—whether you're feeling anxious and scattered, overheated and irritable, sluggish and heavy, or simply looking to cultivate greater balance and resilience for a long healthy life.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have a foundational understanding of:
The five elements and the three doshas of Ayurveda.
How doshic imbalances can influence your physical, mental, and emotional health.
Yoga postures, breathing and meditation practices that help balance Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Simple Ayurvedic lifestyle practices you can begin using immediately to support your body, mind, and spirit.
This workshop is perfect for beginners, yoga practitioners, yoga teachers, and anyone curious in learning how Ayurveda and yoga work together to create a more personalized and sustainable path to wellness. No prior knowledge of Ayurveda is required. »Reiki and Craniosacral Healing
« I blend tools learned from Reiki and Craniosacral Therapy by tuning into the physical flow of water and extracellular fluid in the body. This allows me to treat the physical and subtle body at the same time. The ultimate goal is relaxation, the opening of mental and emotional blockages and allowing the body's natural ability to heal. »Facial Gua Sha Workshop
