About Cheryl
Cheryl Otterbein is a Psychotherapist and Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapist known for her advanced work in trauma, nervous-system regulation, and mind–body integration. As a Registered Counselling Supervisor, Master Therapeutic Counsellor, and Instructor, she brings deep clinical expertise and a grounded, compassionate presence to her practice.
Cheryl specializes in trauma recovery, concurrent disorders, emotional and dissociative eating patterns, chronic stress, and nervous-system dysregulation. She also works extensively with fears and phobias, including dental fears, medical-procedure anxiety, driving anxiety, and other fear-based avoidance patterns that impact daily functioning and overall health.
Her therapeutic approach blends psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), clinical hypnotherapy, and evidence-informed somatic methods to help clients shift long-standing patterns and create meaningful, lasting change.
Cheryl’s work integrates seamlessly with chiropractic and other body-based therapies. She frequently supports clients experiencing chronic pain, MVA-related trauma, anxiety, and stress-related physical symptoms — helping them restore internal safety, emotional balance, and resilience.
Known for her warm, direct, and client-centered style, Cheryl creates a safe therapeutic environment where individuals feel understood, empowered, and supported as they move toward greater clarity, confidence, and well-being
