About Christy
Are you or your child struggling with relationships?
This can include challenges with family dynamics such as partnership issues, parenting concerns, divorce/separation, or navigating blended families. It could also extend to relationships with peers, teachers, or employers. Struggles might show up as bullying, isolation, or outbursts of anger. Additionally, learning difficulties can sometimes mask withdrawal, avoidance of new experiences, perfectionism, sadness, confusion, or low self-esteem.
Are you facing difficulties with emotional regulation, social interactions, or behaviors?
Are you seeking strategies and tools to manage life changes? Would you like to better understand yourself or your child? Are you looking to learn healthier ways to cope?….. I am here to help.
With experience working in a wide range of settings—both in education (preschool to post-graduation/ public and private), and in community support for adults—I offer a personalized, eclectic approach to therapy. Over the years, I’ve worked as a teacher, early childhood educator, and youth counselor. I’ve also supported adults facing challenges such as immigration, trauma, safety concerns, criminalization and relationship difficulties. Additionally, my research on grief and loss, especially in non-death situations, has shaped my approach to supporting mental health.
My approach to therapy is eclectic, and flexible, integrating various techniques and modalities to meet the individual needs and goals of each client. This approach embraces creativity and curiosity. I blend traditional talk therapy with creative methods like play, movement, storytelling, art, mindfulness, and visualizations. I also incorporate elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). While incorporating psychoanalytic perspectives, Attachment Theory, and dream analysis to explore and process unconscious thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns. Together, these elements support a holistic, somatic mind-body approach to therapy.
Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, twists and turns. Sometimes we get stuck, stumble, or feel off track. We are all human, and at times, we all need support. Together, we will work toward your goals and desired changes
If you’re ready to get started, I always offer a 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you or a member of your family get the help they need to live better.
