Crys Thériault is a Licensed Counselling Therapist - Candidate (LCT-C) in New Brunswick and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and a graduate of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. They hold an MEd from the Université de Moncton and undergraduate degrees from both the University of Maine at Presque Isle and Dalhousie University.
With a decade of experience as an educator in New Brunswick schools and a background as a motorcycle safety instructor, Crys has cultivated a calm, accessible communication style that resonates across diverse backgrounds and learning approaches. These skills carry into their therapeutic work, especially with clients navigating marginalization, systemic harm, and complex, identity-based experiences.
Crys’ practice is rooted in cultural humility and informed by their lived experience as a queer, nonbinary therapist. They cultivate spaces of safety and dignity—spaces where silence is not something to fill, but something to trust. Their presence is grounded, their tone steady and calm. Clients are gently invited to explore the full spectrum of their internal world through compassionate inquiry, nonviolent communication, and a mindful pace that honours the nervous system.
Drawing from trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based approaches, Crys supports people in reconnecting with their own inner clarity and wisdom. Their Brain Story Certification deepens their understanding of how trauma, systemic oppression, and relational dynamics shape wellbeing—insight they hold with care and attunement. As a member of Breelove's Integrative Services Team, Crys also offers cannabis-assisted care. In these sessions, they co-create grounded and nonjudgmental containers for healing, with attention to regulation, reflection, and the quiet moments in between.
"Thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you in your healing journey." -Crys
