À propos de Crystal
Dans ses motsCrystal is a registered social worker with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers. She holds both a bachelor and master’s degree from Memorial University. Crystal has worked primarily with children, adolescents and families for the past 17 years, in both government and community settings.
Crystal practices from a trauma informed, strengths based approach. She believes connection and safety are key components in a therapeutic alliance and strives to ensure clients feel safe to show up as themselves. She strongly values the therapeutic use of self and using a collaborative approach with clients as they move toward healing.
In her work with children, Crystal often utilizes play based approaches, alongside other interventions, to assist them in exploring areas of concern. Crystal has completed post graduate training through the Institute of Child Psychology as well as the Canadian Association for Play Therapy.
As all individuals are unique, interventions and skills used in sessions are client and family centered. When working with adolescents and adults, Crystal incorporates a variety of therapeutic strategies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Crystal is dedicated to helping individuals across the lifespan who are struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, grief and loss, self-esteem, relationship struggles and parenting challenges.
