Hello! I'm Danielle Topley and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist regulated by the
College of Alberta Psychologists. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Religious Studies from Mount Royal University and a Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle.
Born and raised in Alberta, I am passionate about supporting the well-being of individuals and families in my community.
My work with neurodivergent individuals has fostered flexibility and creativity in my practice. Through academic, professional, and personal experience, I developed a deep appreciation for human diversity, recognizing that differences in how we think, act, and exist to enrich the human experience.
I practice from a strengths-based, person-centred lens that views every individual as capable and
deserving of achieving their own version of a fulfilling life. Building trust, cultivating safety, and fostering collaboration are foundational to my approach. I believe that meaningful change is most possible when we feel truly seen, heard, and respected.
I have experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and couples with a range of concerns,
including developmental disabilities, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, peer-relationships, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), spirituality, perfectionism, trauma, gender and sexuality, relationship issues and arrangements (including polyamory and consensual non-monogamy), and addictions.
No matter what brings you to therapy, I strive to meet you with authenticity, genuine empathy, and when appropriate, a little bit of humour.
I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
(ACT), Attachment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play-Based Therapy,
Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy, to destigmatize mental health
challenges and support clients toward a rich, values-aligned life. My goal is to create a space
where you feel empowered to explore, process, and heal. I would be honoured to connect to see
if I feel like the right fit for you.
