Dans ses motsDonnie holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto, an Honours degree and a Bachelor of Arts from Saint
Mary’s University. As a Registered Counselling Therapist since 1999, he has worked
with a diverse clientele in the private, post-secondary, military, and mental health sectors providing one-to-one and group counselling.
Throughout his 20+ year career, Donnie uses a non-judgmental and empathetic approach that is trauma-informed and collaborative. He has gained extensive
experience using evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Solution Focused
Therapy.

A life-long resident of Halifax, Donnie is the owner of Waterstone Counselling & Therapy, which provides
therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families in the Halifax area. Using a client-centered
approach, Donnie creates a safe and trustworthy space that is tailored to the individual so that clients
will leave their session feeling a sense of progress and accomplishment.
Donnie enjoys being active, playing hockey, golfing, and hiking. A dedicated community member, he
volunteered with Halifax Hawks Minor Hockey Association for seven years and Metro West Force
Female Hockey Association for five years. He is also a member of Nova Scotia College of Counselling
Therapists and Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
