Dr. Christy Lau was born and raised in Richmond, BC. She completed her Bachelor of Science with Distinction at the University of British Columbia. She then pursued her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, graduating with Dean's Honours. Dr. Lau received the COVD Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy in 2024. Christy completed her training with an ocular disease externship at an ophthalmologist office in Niagara Falls, Ontario, which focused on the diagnosis and management of diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and emergency eyecare. Her primary care rotation in downtown Toronto, Ontario included comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, surgical co-management, and pediatric exams. Dr. Lau is interested in ocular disease and contact lenses. She enjoys serving patients of all ages and is committed to providing comprehensive eye care through a patient-centered approach. Dr. Lau is a member of the BC Doctors of Optometry and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She is certified by the Optometry Examining Board of Canada and is Therapeutics Qualified. Dr. Lau's hobbies include hiking, running, snowboarding, and camping.
