Dr. Walker is originally from Mississauga, Ontario, and has been practicing Optometry in the Okanagan since 2015. He completed both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2012. Dr. Walker has completed additional post-graduate training in the areas of Vision Therapy, Low Vision Rehabilitation as well as Ocular Nutrition. He has completed fellowships with the Ocular Wellness & Nutrition Society (2021) and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (2023) . These two areas are complementary to his passion for protecting and maintaining optimal visual health throughout life.

Our full eye examination for children is scaled according to their individual needs and abilities. The details of this assessment varies greatly with age but often includes an in-depth vision & medical history, static visual evaluation (usually a picture matching game!), developmental eye tracking & teaming screening, and an ocular health evaluation. « The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends an initial eye exam at 6 months of age. The first exam is a screening to ensure there are no early signs that would negatively impact your child's visual development. There is no co-pay fee for this, provided you have a valid MSP care card for your baby. Please bring their card with you to the appointment. »
