Joanna Newbury grew up in Kamloops, BC after moving there from Kent, England as a child. She graduated from Valleyview Secondary School with District Honours and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Thompson Rivers University. While studying for her undergraduate degree, Joanna was in a car accident that left her with whiplash and a concussion. Her personal journey through recovery sparked a deep appreciation for rehabilitation sciences and a desire to help others overcome their own obstacles, inspiring her to apply to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. While working toward her Doctor of Chiropractic, Joanna also worked as a personal trainer and yoga instructor, helping people of all ages stay healthy and active. She eagerly looked forward to returning to Kamloops to enjoy an active lifestyle with hiking, kayaking, running, and resistance training. Her drive led her to pursue a competitive externship, allowing her to practice as a student chiropractor at Kamloops Active Health. There, she worked with Dr. Brise and Dr. McCall to treat a variety of conditions, including athletic injuries, general aches and pains, arthritis, and headaches. Joanna graduated with honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in June 2026. After graduation, she joined Kamloops Active Health full-time as a Chiropractic associate. Joanna’s greatest passion is empowering others to return to the activities they love and lead vibrant, pain-free lives. She is dedicated to helping her community stay active, healthy, and doing the things that bring them joy.
