About Larisa
Dr. Larisa Shevchuk graduated with Honours from the University of Victoria before earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Prior to becoming a chiropractor, she worked for ten years as a Registered Nurse at Vancouver's St. Paul's Hospital, caring for patients in the Cardiac, Intensive Care, Post-Anesthesia Recovery, and Medical units.
Her experience in hospital-based healthcare inspired her to pursue a more preventative and holistic approach to wellness. Dr. Shevchuk believes that optimizing the function of the spine, joints, and nervous system allows the body to heal, adapt, and perform at its best.
With 14 years of chiropractic experience, Dr. Shevchuk enjoys caring for patients of all ages. She provides personalized chiropractic care for pain relief, injury recovery, pregnancy, sports injuries, posture, and overall wellness. Her approach combines evidence-informed chiropractic care with insights from neuroscience, mindfulness, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and lifestyle coaching to help patients achieve lasting improvements in their health.
Her care incorporates fascia, soft tissue, and joint release techniques, with most adjustments performed using the Activator® instrument. She also provides the Webster Technique for pregnancy-related pelvic balance and comfort. Dr. Shevchuk welcomes open dialogue with her patients, believing that listening and collaborating together leads to truly individualized care.
In addition to caring for people, Dr. Shevchuk is also certified in animal chiropractic and enjoys treating dogs and cats. One of her most memorable experiences even included adjusting a baby crocodile in Belize.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Shevchuk enjoys spending time with her two children, staying active, travelling, and continually expanding her knowledge of health, movement, and personal growth.
