Dr. Makaila Esquivel was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, and now calls Vancouver home after falling in love with the city’s active lifestyle during a clinical internship.
She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Calgary, followed by her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the University of Western States in Portland, graduating cum laude. From a young age, she knew she wanted a career focused on helping people improve their health and quality of life.
Dr. Esquivel is passionate about helping patients move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives through natural, evidence-informed care. She takes a personalized approach to treatment, combining hands-on techniques such as chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, IASTM, cupping, and joint mobilization to support recovery and long-term wellness.
She is Webster Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), allowing her to care for prenatal patients and children. She welcomes patients of all ages, including families, athletes, and active individuals.
Fluent in Tagalog, she is proud to serve a diverse community of patients and connect in their preferred language.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys staying active, travelling, strength training, and exploring new restaurants. Her goal is to empower patients to see chiropractic care as part of a healthy, active lifestyle—not just pain relief, but long-term wellness.
Billing Note:
Dr Makaila is currently in the process of enrolling with most insurance providers. During this time, direct billing may need to be done manually until her enrollment is fully completed under Alliance Wellness. Thank you for your understanding!
