Dr. Tarani is a highly dedicated and compassionate mental health professional with over 15 years of experience in various treatment and educational settings. As a practicing therapist, she is passionate about helping individuals achieve their health and healing goals.
Dr. Tarani is a Registered Provisional Psychologist certified by the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychological Association of Alberta, as well as the Canadian Psychological Association.
Dr. Tarani holds graduate (Ph.D. and MSc) and undergraduate degrees in Psychology, as well as a postgraduate certificate degree in Guidance and Counselling from reputable accredited universities in Iran, India, and the USA. Additionally, Dr. Tarani has received extensive training in various mental health, special needs, and public health-related fields. As a research-oriented professional, Dr. Tarani has published and presented various mental health-related research papers at national and international conferences.
Dr. Tarani has comprehensive knowledge of various therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapies, solution-focused therapies, psychoeducational interventions, behavior management, biofeedback/neurofeedback techniques, art and play therapies. She is experienced in crisis management techniques, trauma-informed care, and client-centered approaches.
Dr. Tarani's enriched understanding of diversity and ability to communicate in multiple languages, including Turkish, Farsi (Persian), Urdu, Hindi, Panjabi, and Japanese, in addition to fluency in English, enables her to develop strong therapeutic relationships with diverse populations. She is committed to providing culturally sensitive, ethical, evidence-based, and trauma-informed treatment to her clients, whether they are dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, PTSD, injury, or trauma-related chronic pain or sleep disorders.
