Dr. Su is a licensed psychologist who has been providing services to children, adolescents and their families for over 7 years. She has a background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Narrative therapy techniques. She has successfully helped youth who struggle with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and addictions. Dr. Su’s therapeutic approach is eclectic and client-centred as she tailors her approach based on each client’s needs and interpersonal styles. She is pleased to be expanding her practice to include attachment-based approaches.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Dr. Su also conducts comprehensive psycho-educational and psycho-diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Su has extensive experience in diagnosing learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and giftedness. Dr. Su takes care to identify the unique strengths within each individual and offers recommendations that build on those strengths.
Dr. Su received her training in clinical psychology at the University of Victoria and completed her residency in Calgary with Alberta Health Services. As part of her doctoral studies, Dr. Su focused her research on examining the dynamics within immigrant Chinese families and has co-authored research papers and book chapters on how immigrant parents can support their children’s cultural and psychological adjustment after immigration. She is pleased to offer services in Mandarin-Chinese for individuals and families of Chinese descent.
