About Duncan
Life can be challenging, and at times it may feel difficult to find your footing. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, career uncertainty, sleep difficulties, or relationship and family struggles, you don’t have to face these challenges alone. My goal as a counsellor is to offer a space where you can slow down, feel supported, and begin to make sense of what’s happening in your life.
I work with adults who are seeking greater understanding, healing, and balance in their lives. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your unique experiences. I believe that meaningful change happens when we feel safe, understood, and accepted as we are. In our sessions, you can expect a calm and compassionate environment where your thoughts and feelings are met with care—not judgment.
When working with anxiety or depression, we might explore the patterns of thought and emotion that keep you feeling stuck and develop ways to find relief and stability. If you’re grieving, we can make room for your loss while helping you rediscover connection and meaning. For trauma, I emphasize safety, trust, and self-compassion, supporting you at a pace that feels right. If you’re facing career concerns, we can clarify your goals and values to help you make confident decisions about your next steps. Together, we can also explore sleep challenges, relationship issues, or family dynamics—finding practical tools and deeper insight to help you feel more at peace in your daily life.
My work is informed by evidence-based approaches such as mindfulness, cognitive-behavioural strategies, and emotion-focused therapy, always adapted to your individual needs. Rather than following a rigid formula, I aim to meet you where you are and build a process that feels genuine and useful to you.
Beginning counselling can take courage, especially when you’re unsure what to expect. It’s completely normal to feel hesitant. My intention is to make this first step as comfortable as possible by offering warmth, understanding, and a genuine interest in your well-being. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start—simply a willingness to explore what’s been difficult and to take care of yourself in a new way.
If you’re ready to begin, or even just curious about whether counselling might help, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can work towards understanding your experiences more deeply and building a life that feels more grounded, connected, and at ease.
