Emily believes that all people have the ability to heal and that they are the experts on what that might look like. Psychology is there to help guide clients toward their definition of wellness. Emily works with individuals 3+, as well as couples and families. She can support clients in many areas, including Anxiety, Boundaries, Attachment, Parenting, Anger, Depression, Trauma, Divorce, Prenatal and Postpartum concerns, Suicidality/Self-harm, Self-Esteem, Emotional Regulation, Grief and Loss, Relationship Concerns, and Sexual Issues. Emily’s specialization is around the impacts of trauma. Emily believes that people who seek counselling are prioritizing wellness, moving past challenges, and being brave! She approaches her interactions and therapy sessions with kindness, empathy, and respect for others.
Emily obtained her Master of Counselling with a specialization in Counselling Psychology through the University of Calgary. She also holds a Bachelor of Communication Studies from Grant MacEwan.
Emily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Play Therapy, The Gottman Method, and Solution-Focused strategies in her sessions.
Emily works with individuals, couples, families, and children.
