My passion as a Physical Therapist is helping people to Move Well and Live Better - with more purpose and less pain. I am a graduate of the University of Toronto Physical Therapy program and bring over twenty five years of experience assessing and treating sport, orthopaedic and lifestyle injuries at all levels, with a special affinity for the recreational athlete. I take an active and functional approach to both your assessment and treatment in order to help you understand and address the root cause of your mobility issue so you're not just chasing pain. I use cutting edge, evidence informed modalities, manual therapies and therapeutic & corrective exercise to assist you with relieving pain and inflammation, facilitate tissue healing and repair and help you return to meaningful functional activities. My goal is to partner with you in this process, empowering you with the knowledge, guidance and tools to take control of your recovery and allow you to return to Optimal Function and the activities that you love. In my practice I'll use the Selective Functional Movement Assessment and the Functional Movement Screen (SFMA/FMS), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) concepts and Functional Dry Needling (FDN). I've studied a number of manual therapies including Mulligan and McKenzie concepts and am a Certified Manual Therapist (Swodeam Institute) using spinal and peripheral manipulation and mobilization techniques to assist patients relieve pain and regain mobility. I offer advanced Class 4 Deep Tissue Therapeutic Laser treatment, utilizing the Litecure Lightforce EX, which is in a class of its own when it comes to effective, drugless treatment for reducing pain and inflammation, improving circulation and mobility and enhancing tissue healing. I have also been analyzing gait and prescribing custom orthotics since 2002 utilizing the Footmaxx computerized gait analysis system. More sensitive than the human eye, the Footmaxx system allows us to identify faults in gait and provide high quality prescription orthotics when needed. I can't wait to meet you and share my Pain, Injury & Rehab Expertise to get you moving better, doing the things you love!
