À propos de Erika
Dans ses mots
Growing up in the West Kootenay Region of BC, Erika had the pleasure of spending her days being active in the outdoors. She could be found hiking in the forest, playing a wide array of sports, swimming in the lakes or on her snowboard with her sisters.
While being immersed & active in the outdoors, Erika developed an immense appreciation for what her body was capable of and became curious to learn more.
Along with her caring, intuitive nature and her keen curiosity for the human body and mind, Erika started on her journey to become a Healer & a Massage Therapist.
Her first adventure into the realm of healer & health professional was a Holistic Bodywork Program. Here she learned about modern and ancient modalities such as Aromatherapy, Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Reiki, Ayurveda and more. Erika realized the importance of mind-body connection while learning of these ancient modalities. This inspired her to pursue Yoga Teacher Training and is a 500 hour Registered Yoga Instructor.
Erika spent many seasons working for back country ski and snowboard lodges, and working in resort towns such as Nelson BC, and Whistler BC. These environments challenged Erika’s knowledge on how to deal with acute injuries and sports related injuries. She was motivated to learn more and pursue her Registered Massage Therapist education.
Since becoming an RMT, Erika is grateful to work with a wide variety of individuals. She would describe her style of massage as strong, slow and intuitive. She utilizes techniques such a Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Release, Craniosacral Therapy and Breathwork. Of course, each massage is catered to the individual and their specific needs. Erika is excited to meet you where you are.
In her free time Erika enjoys snowboarding, hiking, paddleboarding, camping, dancing, travelling, hanging with her friends and family, cooking nutritious meals and learning, always.
