Specializations: Couples and Relationship Therapy, support for step-families, as well as Individual Therapy for Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (skin and hair picking, for example). Clinical Hypnosis is also available for relaxation, smoking cessation and food related challenges.

Gayatri is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and is a member
of the Psychologist’s Association of Alberta, as well as a member and Research Chair of the Canadian
Federation of Clinical Hypnosis – Alberta Society. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in
Applied Psychology and a Master of Arts in Psychology. Gayatri is passionate about the field of psychology and engages in regular learning and growth.
Gayatri has over 24 years of experience providing counselling in various settings. She enjoys
working with people of any age from children 5+ through adult. In addition to English, she provides services in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
In her therapeutic work, Gayatri utilizes a strengths-based, client centered approach and tailors the therapy to best meet the needs and goals of each individual with whom she works. Gayatri’s therapeutic work draws from Cognitive-behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Practices,
Trauma Informed Care and Relaxation Techniques. She also uses Clinical Hypnotherapy, where requested. Her work with couples is guided by the Gottman method which is a well researched and evidence-based couples therapy.
Outside of her work time, Gayatri loves listening to music, cooking, going for walks, watching movies
and spending time with her family.
