*I AM ALWAYS ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS and offer free consultations!
I hold a Master’s in Adult Education and Counselling Psychology, as well as formal training in Advanced EMDR therapy, Level 1 and 2 Satir Transformational Therapy, and guidance and career counselling.
I am a trauma and addictions specialist with significant experience working with and in Indigenous communities, as well as providing intensive treatment in centres for drug and alcohol addiction for many years.
I am very passionate about treating people age 18+, as well as first responders, veterans, people struggling with intergenerational trauma, attachment trauma, family stress, grief and loss, abuse, suicidal ideation, depression and anxiety, to name a few.
In addition to the above-listed training, I have additional training in personality disorders/concurrent disorders, motivational interviewing, anger management, suicide risk, self-harm, and return to work oriented mental health treatment.
A particular niche area for me is my extensive training and expertise in advanced EMDR trauma therapy, Defense & Affect Restructuring with EMDR and Somatic Interventions to Enhance EMDR Effectiveness
I am also currently studying with an EMDR Advanced Consultation Group to learn about complex clinical issues of structural dissociation, affect phobias, psychological defenses, personality disorders or co-occurring disorders.
When I am not at work, I love being outside in nature, going for walks with friends, and gardening. I love the summer heat and enjoy water so I spend time kayaking and swimming when the weather is nice. I also love music of all kinds and am particularly fond of dogs!
My favourite quotation is "Understanding someone's suffering is the best gift you can give another person"
